Intermediate II. How not to cook a Spanish tortilla.

Let's benevolently credit Anne Mooney with being full of good intentions, but she's obviously cooking something no true Spaniard would recognise as a tortilla. Watch the video and make comments about what she should have done instead.

  7. Careful everyone! The word is "OMELETTE"; there is no initial "h" in it.

Ana, I wish I could help you... what's your operating system? Or perhaps you must install the right video player first... Try downloading real player.

    Thanks for your comments.

  8. At first she should have cut the potatoes into thin slices and add the onions. And, of course, she should have fried the potatoes with "spanish" olive oil on high fire. After 10 or 15 min. (not just 5 min. later) she should have removed the potatoes from the oil and mixed with the eggs. And indeed, it isn´t necesarry to blend the eggs with cream. And finally she only should have to be patient. It´s not necessary to stir the tortilla all the time. She should have cooked the omelette on low fire, turn it once or twice and ... finished. The result: A Spanish tortilla and not a disgusting English omelette.

  10. Now I´m at my friend´s home and I can watch the video but...we don´t have loudspeakers! It seems to be impossible to learn a different way of cooking tortilla (my children will be grateful for it!)
Thanks for your explanations, I´ll try it again!
