Intermediate II. Debate.

Say whether you agree or disagree with the statement below and explain your reasons:

Personality can only be explained by what a person has experienced during his/her life. Since that is beyond anyone's control, we should try to forgive other people's defects as much as possible.

  1. I am absolutely in disagreement with this last idea.
Although our personalities were configurated by our way of life and our experiences in the past, I think that there are some defects that we would correct if we tried to do it.
Sometimes people need to be said what they did wrong in order to improve their behaviour and grow up individually.
Of course that we have to be tolerant with other people, but other people have to be tolerant with society too.

  2. I think the question is silly. We do not have to forgive anyone for his defects because defects are totally wrong. If I do not expect the others to forgive my defects, why should I forgive the defects of other people?
We are all born with an original sin and this sin must be treated in a severe way if we want to go to heaven. And, of course, our circunstances do not shape us: we shape our circumstances. God will judge us all when doomsday comes, we do not judge other people, but we must punish evil people and reward good people, without matter how was their lives in the past.
